A FREE drop-by-when-you-can event. Coming to a driveway near you!
Let’s share the beauty!
One day of perennial sharing throughout all of Applewood.
UPDATE! We regret we didn’t have as many participants as we’d hoped. However, we have two houses that are offering free giveaways. Those addresses are:
| 11850 W. 22nd Pl. |
| 11895 W 22nd Pl |
There’s an awesome variety of items being given away, so be sure to check these spots out!
We are always open to ideas, feedback, and volunteers. You can contact us at sustainableapplewood@gmail.com.
SATURDAY, October 7th
10a.m.–3p.m.
as indicated on the map (map goes live the week of the swap)
Receive free perennials from your neighbors, share yours, or do both!
Many perennials need to to be divided/thinned so that they remain plentiful and healthy. This includes irises, day lilies, chives, sage, and echinacea, and bee balm.
If you’re interested in sharing perennials, that’s great! See the column to the right.
If you’d like to pick up some perennials, then come to this site to find the map the week of the swap. We will also email the map link out. If you’re not on our email list, sign up for it here.
Rain or shine on Saturday, 10/7 10a.m.-3p.m.! Feel free to contact us if you have questions.
How It Works: Sharing Your Perennials
1. Sign up by completing THIS FORM so we know to expect you!
2. Divide your perennials. Click below to view or download our Q&A sheet for dividing perennials:
3. Label them as to what they are.
Optional: Include instructions on what conditions they like and any other pertinent information. For example: “Do not plant Iris corms completely below the ground. Allow the corm to be slightly exposed on the surface.
3. We will email a sign for you to post to let people know they have the right spot.
4. Place your perennials (might be easiest to put them into a cardboard box by type) and sign out on your driveway on October 7th. Because it’s a self-service model, you don’t have to be present.
5. Respond to our follow-up email with how many of your plants were picked up (ex. “5 of 8 were picked up!”).
